An Intro to Line and it's importantace
A line is an identifiable path created by a point moving in space. It is one-dimensional and can vary in width, direction, and length. Lines often define the edges of a form. Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, straight or curved, thick or thin. They lead your eye around the composition and can communicate information through their character and direction.
Quickly Smoothly Lightly
Sketching confuses your brain! Your brain is brilliant at spotting every tiny mistake. It sees every flaw in the left circle but thinks the right circle is more accurate, even though it is made up of lots of ‘wrong’ lines. So if we sketch with multiple light lines our drawings will look better!
Practice separating your hands into simple shapes and quick drawing them. Follow the detailed POwerPOint on easy to follow basic drawing rules and practice.. |

Monday 13th Contour Line tutorial
Last lesson we learnt to free up our hands, drawing multiple lines that express movement. Now it's time to practice the control and draw the contour of your hands. Watch this tutorial and have a go in your sketchbook. Remember to write a title. Next lesson make sure you have both types of hand drawing (quickly, smoothly and quickly, basic shapes and controlled contour line). We will compare and contrast the two styles.
