Welcome to The International Print Patterns Project. An ambitious idea to meet and collaborate with students and teachers from around the world.

The Aims:
- To study and develop a series of Cultural patterns from around the world.
- To recognize and identify, then compare and contrast different Art Elements (shapes, lines, colors, textures) according culture
- To interact, collaborate and publish with peers, experts and others employing a variety of digital environments and media.
- Locate, analyse, organise, evaluate, sympathsize and ethically use information from a variety of sources and media.
Week 1
- Learning Objectives: Appropriate design of pages, Colour theory and Font styles
Here's a chance to have a go at Web Design. Do away with sketchbooks, instead blog about your research, ideas, designs, experiments and reflections.

Week 2
LO:Create original designs that encompass typical features of your cultural style.
View Print and negative space ppts. Talk about negative space. Make A number Pencil, pencil color, paint or digital designs for the prints and share photos on the blog. Leave comments on classmate blogs to help them know which design to choose

Begin to draw your design onto the lino and carve away, being sure to photograph, record voice and video as you do.

LO:Communicate from students from different cultures and evaluate their work
Subscribe to flip board and view other schools magazines. Make comments on other students prints and choose 2 video tutorials from 2 other countries.

Write a final Blog post, having chosen favorite print from each culture you made. Compare and Contrast the prints whilst reflecting about successes and failures. Write about what you learned.

- The mood or feeling, is that similar or different, how so?
- What is the process behind the three, is that similar or always different? (layers, carving etc)
- What are the influences of the designs?

- What are the typical cultural colours like? Similar or different? Why do you think this culture uses those colours? (vibrant, dull, contrasting, triad, moncromatic)
- What shapes and patterns are used on each? How are they similar or different? (organic, geometric)
- How has positive and negative space been used?
- Are the lines always thick, thin, straight, curvy, zig-zag? Does that accurately represent the culture?
